The Autism Project

Does your child struggle with speaking, learning or socializing in
traditional educational settings, but love to sing, dance or just be in
front of an audience?

Image Nation is creating an exciting new after school program to be run by professional art therapists and teachers experienced with autism.

The program will run twice a week during September, October, and
November, and will culminate in a performance on National Day -
December 2, 2013.
Every autistic child needs to be seen, heard, recognized and
respected - and this is a chance to give your child a place to shine!

This meetup we'd like to do something a little different, and we'd like everyone to come out and meet each other and build that social support that families on the spectrum so desperately need.

Bring your kids- bring all of the kids, siblings included, and meet us at the lovely Ajman Academy. It is a short drive up Emirates Road, and the campus has two beautiful playgrounds, an indoor gym where we will play games, and the best part is- the entire campus is safe and completely fenced.

The staff of AutismUAE will be on hand to help make sure playtime is fun and safe for everyone, and that parents can relax and have a chat without being worried. Anyone interested in volunteering may contact me for confirmation and a pre-meetup orientation.

We will also serve tea and snacks, and the highlite of this meetup will be... You. We want parents to inspire parents, so if you would like to be one of the parents who has seven to ten minutes of your time to share your story with the rest of the group, you are welome to join me on stage for an open mic forum of hope and connectivity. Let your voice be heard, and come and meet some of the many families in Dubai who are living with the same challenges that you are.

The meetup is open to all parents of children on spectrum, as well as family members and supporting friends. Dress comfy, bring the family, and we're looking forward to seeing you on Feb 9th! Tea and light snacks will be provided, but if you feel like bringing something to share, it will be much appreciated.

Here is a google map to the school location:
